Dentists who have trained overseas that are in the U.S. to pursue advanced training or licensure, are sure to find help at DDS. The basic areas we cover are:
National Dental Board Part I - we have an amazing video collection (over 50 DVDs) covering all subjects in such a way as to maximize your chances for a HIGH score - which is becoming more and more important with the increased competition! We are planning to have this entire collection for use online starting early 2009!
National Dental Board Part II - our series of lectures on this subject have all been recorded and will be put online for remote access by mid 2009.
Training for Practical examinations for International Dental Programs and Advanced Standing Admission - the IDP Course, or more formally, the Fundamental Restorative Techniques Program. These are generally hands-on exams and are looking for candidates with good comprehension of preparation design and skills.
Enhanced training in Restorative Dentistry (Gateway Program) - to provide a really comprehensive clinically-driven program, either for international graduates or U.S. graduates.
In a special category here are graduates from the Universidad de la Salle Bajio in Leon Guanajuato, Mexico whose dental program has been approved by the Dental Board of California for admission to practice in California after passing only NDB I and II and the California Dental Clinical Exam or the Western Regional Dental Exam (WREB) - no RT is required. La Salle has a program for international students from around the globe (their own "IDP" program), and graduates from this program as well as 4 year graduates qualify for California licensure.
We have a special course for La Salle graduates who wish to optimize their chances of passing the WREB exam. Since La Salle graduates are from a more uniform background, the class can move as a whole more quickly to advanced skills and accomplishments - and we mean accomplishments that few if any US graduates display! We have designed this course to be as efficient as possible as a complementary program to what students have been taught at La Salle during either the 4 year or IDP programs.
